Sex Show Adventures, and other "bad ass" gospel truths...
So, our women's outreach along with Stop The Traffik heads out to this Canadian Sex Show called Taboo. I had a woman shocked about our willingness to be at a trade show on all things sex with this kind of news. She said it was 'bad ass' and I agree.
It really does take a kind of rugged determination to be light in dark places. But once we shook off the dust and got busy bringing bread to the very places where hungry people hang out - we got there. We offered some good news about real things that bring goodness to the world.
Our new booth helped us proclaim the way we actually see other people with dignity and respect and in awe of what they were created to be and do in the world. It was literally the 'opposite' spirit of the other booths. We gave out free fairly traded chocolate for people to taste and see that justice tasted good - and we also offered to dial in to eternity to get some news from God about their lives right now (we called these free spiritual readings) and PEOPLE LINED UP to get them.
That's right. At a sex show. People, who had paid to come in for sex, lined up for prayer. It's all true. I can't make this stuff up. They lined up because they saw 'bad ass' and wondered what it took to join the revolution. People created with dignity? People deserving of respect? People who could change the world? At a sex show? where else people? This was a classic case of one beggar showing some others where to get bread. And we all got to taste and see that God is good... all the time. Now, that, my friends is seriously bad ass. :-)
