Insider Report #2

Hello friends. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement and prayer! It is such an honor to be invited to do what I do and to do it with support fills me with gratitude on a daily basis! I can’t believe we are already through a quarter of 2019, Wow! The time has flown by and I’ve been so awed by all that God is doing in this world.

Here are a few updates to keep you in the loop.

GLS / Global Leadership Network

I’m absolutely thrilled to be speaking at the Global Leadership Summit again this year. Many of you will know what a difficult time it’s been for the Willow Creek Association (now called the Global Leadership Network) as they’ve led through the abuse accusations around their founder and leader Bill Hybels. As I’ve journeyed with them I’ve been so amazed at their humility and willingness to apologize, posture of openness to learn, tenacity of spirit to keep focused on their mission, and their resilience as a team to lead well and care for each other in the midst of a crisis. I continue to pray for all involved and am truly honored to be part of the speaking team this year. This conference is shown live to over 150,000 people and then around the world to many thousands more. Its potential impact for the kingdom is truly remarkable. Please pray as I prepare for that.

Speaking Highlights

I’m never really sure how to highlight my speaking experiences. Every single time I get to tell of my experience and hope is incredible to me. Honestly. 

To give you a glimpse, travel with me to Norway (the pentecostals there are amazing), to the USA Alpha conference (where many protestants and catholics were gathered to focus on evangelism in America!). From Methodist pastors in the midwest, to the majesty of Switzerland’s mountains and people. I enjoyed the deepening and beautiful friendships with churches like Central Church in Phoenix and Willow Creek in Chicago and meeting some new friends at Northeast church in Kentucky and Nappanee missionary church in Indiana. I love investing in the lives of leaders and always love the exchange of encouragement at events like Thrive (palm springs) and the Global Leadership Retreat. I was also blessed to travel with friends and family many times over this quarter, which I’m always grateful for.

New Book

So the manuscript has been completed! Phew. That was a hard slog but it’s done! Truly, the message of reconciliation towards a better future fills me hope so it was a great delight to write the book and please join me in praying that God will USE IT! It goes to ‘copy’ in a week so the process has begun… I’ll keep you posted as the release date gets announced and we can start spreading the news together.


Update on Initiatives: 

BRAVE

A Brave event was held in Orange County (LA) this quarter and it passes the baton on to Seattle for the next brave event (literally the girls wrote notes and made them into paper chains to demonstrate that we are stronger together!) the next stop will be Toronto in June for the first ever Canadian Brave… please join us in prayer for that to be a powerful beginning! The first Brave Journal continues to expand in impact as girls across the nation are using it as a curriculum for identity discussions and a second brave journal is on its way. Also, a brave book of brave survivors who share their stories is also in the works—please pray for every advance of Brave Global as we continue to spread the news that girls are the solution not the problem!.

Women Speakers Bootcamp #2 (Phoenix) 

The women’s speakers Bootcamp at Central Church in Arizona was off the charts! What an incredible team of women leaders and speakers. Over 40 of us gathered for two solid and full days of teaching, networking, speaking and learning together. The highlights are always our delegates—I continue to be amazed at the quality and depth of women communicators. Our volunteer team was and is incredible including many alumni from our first bootcamp that came to help us! We also had many more coaches present with several established speakers coming to offer their own encouragement and experience. Autumn Katz and Hannah Grownoski continue to lead the collective with imagination and grace! We continue to learn and grow and are looking forward to our next bootcamp in June in Toronto, Canada. This bootcamp is almost sold out so if you are interested—please register soon! A bootcamp is also scheduled for Lebanon this year (please be in prayer for those!) The Chicago Bootcamp (Oct 8-9) is now open. Also, the UK Bootcamp (Nov 14-15) is now open.

Amplify Peace

Amplify peace continues to expand with new global pilgrimages to Rwanda/Congo and South Africa (we will be doing a vision trip there in May). Another women’s trip to Israel/Palestine is booked for November 8–18 register on-line! We are helping to facilitate the Peace Building Curriculum’s (written and used extensively for community transformation in Rwanda and Congo) translation and implementation in the western world. 

Peace Journals are now available with many groups using them as a discussion guide toward living out peace making everyday. We are finalizing our Native American Encounters and will be opening those up soon to the public. An on-line Shop is to be launched on our website for Fair Trade products to educate people and allow stories to be heard and also to support women globally. And Egypt is ready and willing to start an Amplify Peace chapter to empower women in that country.

Infinitum Deep Drive Retreat

Many of you will know of my deep love for Infinitum (a way of life). If you haven’t checked it out as a tool for spiritual formation in your own life please do—I hope it will help you keep Jesus primary. (https://infinitumlife.com/deepdive/) One of our latest initiatives is to offer 2 day ‘deep dives’ (full workshops) on living a boundless life. We are offering limited spots to leaders who want a full immersion into the rhythms and practices of infinitum. The dates of this event are: Sept 30–Oct 1 and we are thrilled to have Phil Wall (co-founder), Ian Mayhew (co-founder) and Aaron White (Canada 24/7) in Toronto Canada for our first retreat. We are offering a discount on the registration for the first 20 to register so check it out if that’s something that might interest you. Please be praying that God will continue to use the practices of Infinitum to keep Jesus at the center of our daily lives.

Prayer

While I was praying for this coming year I felt God prompted me to Ephesians 3:14-21 as scriptural direction for Boundless communications, specifically verse 18, “may you have power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how high, how long, and how deep His love is.” I felt a renewed sense of God’s love and an urge to communicate that effectively. I was prompted to think strategically about the various areas of our current communications—wide, high, long and deep. To that end I’m praying through my calendar this year and next to reflect the areas and ways in which God is leading me to communicate His love. Would you please join me in praying for His best strategies? Wide, long, high and deep. 

I was also reminded this quarter by another leader about the importance of pace. I’d like to set a pace that is in keeping with God’s timing and grace. I’m asking God for wisdom to set it accordingly. I’m a very driven person, so slowing down my pace is not natural—but it is wise. So, some real discernment and obedience is essential in this season. 

Family. Please continue to pray for my boys. My husband is thriving and healthy and is simply an amazing gift from God—continue to pray for his exploits and ministry and for our marriage to thrive. Pray for my three boys, Zion, Judah and Moses. All of them are healthy and whole and beautiful and full of life. Pray for their protection. I’ve had several dreams recently that felt like warnings to increase my prayers of protection over them… would you please join me? Pray for their protection and their health and their wellbeing. Shalom over and in their lives. We are truly blessed to have people who will join us in prayer and ministry! Thanks for your support.
